Abstract:
Roman Tam (16 February 1950 – 18 October 2002) was a renowned Hong Kong Canton Pop singer. He is regarded as the “Godfather of Cantopop”.In 1991, Tam received the Golden Needle Award of RTHK which emphasized his contribution and achievement in the Canton pop industry.

Tam was died in 2002 from liver cancer. He never gave up from encouraging people around to treasure and enjoy their life. He was even going out and attending charitable events when he was suffering from his illness.

Tam was one of the Ten Outstanding Young Person in Hong Kong in 1983.
