As of Sept 10, 2018, more than 40 people have been confirmed dead after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake rocked Japan’s northern prefecture of Hokkaido early Thursday morning (6 September 2018). About 300 are injured and about 30 more are missing. Meteorological Agency officials say the quake measured the strongest possible level on Japan’s seismic intensity scale.

In response to the devastating earthquakes, Asia-based crowdfunding platform Give.Asia & Japan-based crowdfunding platform “CampFire”  are now running a joint force crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with Peace Winds Japan (PWJ), a non-profit organization situated in Hiroshima Japan. PWJ have dispatched a rescue team of 20 members, three disaster rescue dogs and one helicopter to help the immediate rescue.
