Today, 18th July, is the birthday of Former South Africa President Mr. Nelson Mandela, as well as International Mandela Day.

Nelson Mandela’s stay in hospital should make the spirit behind International Mandela Day today all the more poignant in the minds of South Africans, as well as many others.

South Africa is preparing for International Mandela Day on which businesses, non-governmental organisations and ordinary South Africans are expected to dedicate 67 minutes of their day to doing something good for others.

Mandela Day is not about donating money but about giving your time. It’s about doing what you can to make a difference. The test of a legacy is whether the legacy’s impact can continue long after the person who left it can no longer initiate it. And it’s up to us to keep it going.

The theme of Mandela Day 2013 is “Take action; inspire change; make every day a Mandela Day”, with a focus on food security, shelter and literacy. Go.Asia will continue with our passion to spread the goods.

And you, are you ready to dedicate your time to doing something good for others?
