Organization: Institute for Integrated Rural Development Hong Kong
Introduction: The Institute for Integrated Rural Development, Hong Kong (IRD) was established in 2003 by the founding members of the China Education Association of the University of Hong Kong. We were granted a public charitable institution with tax exemption status since 2004 (Inland Revenue Department Reference Number: 91/7188) and has been a member of Hong Kong Council of Social Service since 2007. In 2011, IRD scored full marks for all indicators in the assessment of independent charity rating agency “iDonate” that evaluates operating efficiency and transparency of charities based in Hong Kong.

Our mission – to assist the people living in poverty-stricken rural areas of China to improve their livelihoods and raise their ability to fulfill their potentials.

Our goal – to ensure that the children and women in impoverished rural areas of China have access to quality and affordable health care services and education.
