Organised by Jockey Club Make A Difference Social Lab and supported by the Transport Department and Clean Air Network, Healthy Street Lab@Sham Shui Po project will be held from March to July 2018 to co-create walkability experiments in Sham Shui Po, one of the heavy polluted district in Hong Kong.The lab team is now recruiting 10 Lab Fellows to create grounded innovations for healthier and walkable streets!

As the driving force of the Lab, all Lab Fellows are expected to participate actively during the lab period from March to July. The lab work includes a series of workshops, as well as field research, interviews, brainstorming sessions and making the prototypes together. Powered by their community partner, fellows will also work closely with a group of Kaifong (the “Kaifong Think Tank”) as an integral part of the ethnographic data collection process. The Lab aims to understand citizens’ street experience, imagine possibilities for a more walkable neighborhood, and come up with evidence-based suggestions for pedestrian-first street design and policies.

Responsibilities of Lab Fellows include:

  • Field Research Phase (mid-March to mid-April)
  • Prototyping Phase (mid-April to mid-July)

Interest parties or individual are welcome to work as a team with engineers from Transport Department and passionate citizens to explore pedestrian-first street design and policies.
