Organization: Hong Kong Committee on Children’s Rights

Introduction:

With effect from 28th December 1995, the Hong Kong Committee on children’s Rights is officially an independent organization. Now the Committee operates in an independent address under the roof of a charming heritage building in the Western District of Hong Kong, we also serve as the secretariat office of Kids’ Dream – Hong Kong’s first child-led organization that focused on promoting children’s rights with children’s efforts. Together with Against Child Abuse, we provide secretarial and mentorship support to Kids’ Dream to help it grow.

The chief objectives:

- promote, advance and ensure the rights of the child in Hong Kong
- develop and continuously update an agenda for the rights of the child in Hong Kong including the adoption of a child policy, a comprehensive Child Ordinance and the establishment of an independent Child Commission
- monitor the implementation of the UNCRC in Hong Kong
- communicate and cooperate with local and international organizations on children’s rights
