Abstract:
Fredric Mao is an all-rounder in stage play, films, TV and musicals. He was appointed Head of Acting in Faculty of Drama in Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA) in 1985 and Art Director of Hong Kong Repertory Theatre in 2001. He also set up Fredric Mao Scholarship to educate the next generation to become talented performers and operators in the forthcoming future.

Awarded Best Director by Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies for five times and The Annual Artiste Awards in 1999, Mao’s outstanding artistic performances and contributions also earned him a Bronze Bauhinia Star from the HKSAR Government in 2004 and the title of Honorary Fellow in HKAPA.

Mao’s kindheartedness has well been interpreted in his participation in various charitable activities in these recent few years. Recently, he has acted for De Ling and Empress Dowager Ci Xi to raise fund for Sowers Action with a view to re-building schools ruined in the Sichuan Earthquake for children to study again.
