Abstract:
Sir Chung Sze-yuen, GBE, GBM, JP, is a mechanical engineer, industrialist, business executive and politician in Hong Kong. He succeeded Sir Yuet Keung Kan, as the Senior Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council in 1980 and served in the latter body until his first retirement from politics in 1988. He was invited by Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, as the convenor of the non-official members of the Executive Council, from which he retired in 1999.

More recently Sir Chung has been active in other areas and taken part in numerous non governmental organizations, including Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Management Association as well as taking an interest in the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the Advisory Committee on the Telephone Services, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Polytechnic and the Community Chest of Hong Kong, as well as Acting Treasurer of University Council of the University of Hong Kong.
