Baby Friendly Action is led by UNICEF Hong Kong, supported by Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mothers’ Association, Hong Kong Catholic Breastfeeding Association, La Leche League Hong Kong, MamaMilk Baby Alliance, Breastfeeding MaMa’s group, UNICEF Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association.

Baby Friendly Action aimed to promote and protect the right for breast feeding and advocacy.
The latest action is to invite the mass public to sign a petition and give pressure to the government to complete the Hong Kong Code of Marketing and Quality of Formula Milk and Related Products, and Food Products for Infants & Young Children (“The HK Code” )

“The Taskforce on Hong Kong Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes (Taskforce) was set up in June 2010 to develop and promulgate the Hong Kong Code, which aims to protect breastfeeding and contribute to the provision of safe and adequate nutrition for infants and young children. The HK Code provides voluntary guidelines to manufacturers and distributors of formula milk; feeding bottle, teats and pacifiers; and, food products for infants and young children aged 36 months or below.”
